Betting preview: West Brom - Swansea

The home side come into this one knowing they are essentially preparing for the Championship. Ex-coach Alan Pardew was binned midweek, and the club is now without hope. A win here would be much appreciated, but the gap is simply too large now. For Swansea, a win here would really help to soothe any lingering relegation fears.

Home News

There’s not much to say about West Bromwich Albion at present that hasn’t already been said. Ten losses on the spin has left them with absolutely out of any chance of staying up. Coach Darren Moore has stepped up until the end of the season.

The loss of Gareth Barry, Daniel Sturridge, Nacer Chadli and James Morrison has deprived the club of a huge amount of talent. However, given the squad-wide lack of any performance, it’s hard to make a positive case for any starting player.

Away News

The Swans arrive here with a few injuries of their own. Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony, two major summer signings are both out. So too are Leroy Fer, Angel Rangel and the suspended Jordan Ayew.

We expect Carlos Carvalhal to go for something a touch different. Young English forward Tammy Abraham was lively at Old Trafford and will probably get a start. There’s little to shout about for the away side, though; their poor form is only superseded by the awful performance of their opponents for this one.

Key Match-Up

We expect the Swans system to overpower the opposition without much issue. They have more numbers in midfield and their trio of defenders should be able to keep the profligate Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon quiet.

The key battle is likely to be how Ahmed Hegazi and Jonny Evans handle Andre Ayew and Abraham.
